ENGL 102: An Intro to Lit (T/Th Noon)

In this scene I believe that Lola is flirting with the professor and they develop some kind of attraction for each other. Lola was applying make-up on her face and showing her legs to the professor when he dropped the cigarette and she saw it as an opportunity to get his attention when he was under the table. I feel as if the professor was nervous around Lola but tried to hide it by keeping his composure. I think he was nervous at how she was openly flaunting herself to him and he may have found it unexpected although he likes her.
