Scene

The importance of that scene is probably to give the viewers an idea of when the pair started developing attraction for each other. It is also the scene that first shows them actually interacting and talking to each other in private. This scene is most likely the beginning of there attraction. I say attraction and not love because they didn't fall in love. Even up until the last scene and there five years of marriage they didn't love each other, they actually fell out of attraction as well. The scene is like the definition of don't get involved with someone so quickly.
