- the ways in which society has broken down.
The blind have been placed in a facility
Human rights are being broken
The thief tried to escape and was shot immediately. Also people trying to get food were shot
- The ways you imagine it will break down more?
The blind will start to commit Suicide out of hopelessness
Attempting revolution
- The ways things will get better (or maybe they won’t?)
Maybe a cure is found
The blindness will be contained
- What purpose does the doctors wife serve in this narrative? Why isn’t she blind?
She is the one eyed person in the village of the blind. She will serve as possibly the key person to be studied for a cure. She has obvious immunity.
- What post-apocalyptic stories, if any, is this novel similar to? In what way is it different from other post-apocalyptic stories you’ve read or seen in the movies or on Tv?
It’s relatable to the holocaust for the fact that human rights are being denied and large groups of people are sent to their deaths.
Resident evil (the movies) has a character that is immune from the zombie virus (maybe similar to the doctors wife). Eventually she finds a cure and depending on how this story (blindness) goes it can relate.
