Blue Angel pg 134

I think that this scene is very akward for both Swensen and Angela’s parents. Swensen is trying his best to make it seem that he is uninterested in Angela’s life, he tries a little too hard. I don’t believe that the mother noticed but the father seems to catch on to the little things more than the mother. There are a coupoe of instances where he akwardly looks at Swensen and when the parents find out the topic of her novel they seemed a bit worried. I think that this is a key scene to realize that Swensen actually does have feelings for Angela and that he is a lot more interested in her life and her past than he wants everyone or even himself to know. As akward as it may seem, to me it was like the parents knew that something was off or at least the dad which is why he kept on looking at Swensen so much.
