Class Discussion on "The Blue Angel" (Movie)
In this scene, I think Keipert, the manager, and the others aren't actually surprised to see the professor back at the club cause they knew he'd come back as Lola has a history with men. In another part of the movie, Lola had stated that when men attempt to leave her, they usually come back. In this sense, the Professor did come back to see Lola even though he didn't want to admit it. The first time they encountered, I believe he took her undergarments as an excuse to come back and see her again. When the professor entered the room she asked if he came back to see her or not. His body language must've gave her an impression that he did hence why she pulled up an extra chair to her vanity and took off his outerwear so he can get comfortable so they can flirt later on in the scene. This is similar to parts in the book where Angela would give Swenson an orange envelope of her writings to she'll have an excuse to see Swenson repeatedly. In both situations, the female character is manipulating the men and making them uneasy. Yet, both male characters seem to enjoy the rush the female characters give them hence why they continue to make bad decisions.
